Subsequent correction of an export declaration (nK-a)
Does this sound familiar? The goods have already been handed over and an export note has been issued – but unfortunately with the wrong data? For such a case there is the possibility of subsequent correction of export declarations.
Even if your goods have left the EU and the corresponding export declaration already has the status “Completed”, you can still correct the data contained in it, if necessary. To do this, you create a subsequent export declaration for correction (nK-a).
When may I make a subsequent correction to the export declaration?
You can use a nK-a if you already have an export note. The easiest way to process it is to copy the original export declaration and correct the incorrect data. Please make sure to select the declaration type “nk+a…”, this stands for the subsequent export declaration in case of previous completely or partially incorrect declaration.
How do I create a subsequent export declaration for correction?
Since a subsequent export declaration for correction is manually checked by your customs office, it is not possible to use your authorization number.
IMPORTANT: You must include the following information:
- The actual customs office of exit, the date of exit and the authoritative date (The date you create the correction).
It is important to note here:
- You can see from the exit note on which date at which customs office of exit the exit actually took place.
- The designated customs office of exit may no longer be filled.
- In the first goods item the document N830 (export declaration) must be created, with the MRN of the original export declaration.
- The content of the declaration remains identical to your initial declaration. Only correct the information that was transmitted incorrectly with the original export declaration.
- Send the subsequent export declaration to Customs for correction. As mentioned above, your customs office will check the process manually, so it may take a while until you receive a response.
