Doing good is a matter of the heart for the employees of BEX. At the beginning of March 2021, the BEX employees had the idea of setting up a joint sports challenge and combining it with a good cause. The theme was quickly found – push-ups. No matter if classic on the floor or on the edge of the table, everyone according to his personal performance level.
After four months of preparation, the time had come on July 20, 2021 – 17 highly motivated BEX employees gathered on the roof terrace of the office building to give their best. Motivation was the announcement of BEX to donate 1,- Euro to a charitable organization for each correctly performed push-up.
One after the other, they got down to work, struggled and some of them surpassed themselves under the thunderous applause of the colleagues. A few colleagues from AEB also joined the challenge, were connected live via telephone and took part at the other end of the line. And then it was clear – the participants from BEX and AEB had done a total of 1,190 push-ups! A result nobody would have expected. At the barbecue afterwards, the participants discussed how challenging the push-up event had been and how it could be improved next year.
The reward for all the effort, however, was not felt until the donations were handed over – both the Youth center Aufwind and the Animal shelter Dreherhof, both located in Aalen, were very pleased and expressed their heartfelt thanks for the donation of 590 euros each.
