Christmas donation to the Malteser Children’s Hospice Service Ostalb
Every year, around 50,000 children in Germany contract an incurable disease, and 1,500 of these children succumb to their illness every year. For these children and their families, it is particularly important to be in their familiar and trusted environment during this difficult time. The principle here is: outpatient before inpatient.
Care and support for seriously ill children
The Malteser Children’s Hospice Service offers these families a charitable service that costs them nothing. The Malteser staff members take care of basic care up to intensive nursing tasks such as parenteral nutrition, catheter and stoma care, care and monitoring of ventilated children or palliative nursing care.
There is a close exchange with clinics, doctors, therapists and other specialist services in the health and social care sector.
In order to be able to maintain this service, Malteser International relies on donations.
Christmas donation instead of Christmas cards
In 2020, which was a very special and stressful year for many people due to the coronavirus, we did not send any Christmas cards and instead supported a charitable organization. This year, we donated the designated amount to the Malteser Kinderhospizdienst Ostalb.
