On the way by train
Our excursion began in Aalen, where we gathered at the station at lunchtime. We were all excited and eager to see what awaited us. After all, not many of us had experienced wine tasting before. We arrived at the idyllic Beurer winery in Stetten right on time at 2 pm. The picturesque surroundings, surrounded by vineyards and well-tended gardens, provided the perfect setting for our excursion.
Vineyard walk, grape varieties and the nature of the soil
After receiving a warm welcome from our hosts, we began our vineyard walk. Our guide led us through the vines and explained in detail the different grape varieties that are grown here, as well as the characteristics of the soil. It was fascinating to learn how much knowledge and care goes into the production of wine. We were able to experience the living history of the winery at first hand and feel the commitment and passion of the winegrowers.
Visit to Y Castle
The highlight of the hike was undoubtedly the visit to Y Castle, a historic castle perched high above the vineyards. From here, we had a breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding countryside. This moment of peace and reflection allowed us to appreciate the beauty of nature and the importance of community.
Wine tasting with onion tart and snacks at the end
After the hike, we were taken back to the winery for a wine tasting. Here we were allowed to taste some of Beurer’s delicious wines. The winemakers explained the nuances and flavors of each wine and offered us delicious onion tart and snacks. It was a convivial group where we exchanged ideas and shared our impressions.
Dinner at the restaurant and return trip to Aalen
In the evening, our excursion took us to a cozy restaurant. Here we were able to round off the day in a relaxed atmosphere. The food was excellent and we enjoyed our time together. After dinner, we returned to Aalen by train, full of new memories and with a strengthened team spirit.
Our annual company outing to the Beurer winery in Stetten was undoubtedly a complete success. Not only did it give us the opportunity to discover the fascinating world of viticulture, but it also gave us the chance to grow closer as a team. It was a day that we will remember for a long time to come and has inspired us for the future together. We are already looking forward to our next trip and to experiencing new adventures as a team.
